You can check www.petfinder.com. They occassionally have hedgehogs for adoption in the Southern states. Otherwise, just search for hedgehog breeders in Florida. Breeders often sell hedgehogs for more, so you should probably try searching for rescue hedgehogs first. It's also for a better cause, but they're more difficult to find.

I'm a Business Administration major from Florida State University and I want to learn some more computer skills so I can add them to my resume and make myself more marketable for a job.Where in Tallahassee, FL can I learn Web Development?
I'm sorry I can't help you much with Tallahassee specifically, but what I can tell you about web development is that unless you are doing very, very simple sites for very, very small companies, these days there are basically two disciplines to actual, serious web development. You can be a designer, in which case you need to focus your efforts first on graphic design and THEN on web dev. Or you can be a programmer and, similarly, you can't learn to develop serious web code until you already know the ins and outs of programming, building and using databases, etc. Web development has gotten very technical over the last 5 years or so.
As a business major, what you might want to do rather than actually get into the nuts and bolts of being a code jock or an artist, is to focus your energies on theory and strategy, or project management. Project Management is project management. If you want to become an expert in that, go to the Project Management Institute site (below) and look up how to become PMP certified.
If you want to get into strategy, however, that's a different subject. I'm not sure how successful you would be in finding a useful curriculum anywhere, let alone in Tallahassee, FL. It is still changing and evolving so quickly! Where would you find classes that talk about Web 2.0 and all the new things that ubiquitous high-speed connectivity and the newer technologies (like what Google Maps uses to be able to slide the map around) are letting companies do?
I htink if you want to get into strategy, you might be best off to create your own "masters degree" program. Figure out how much time and money you can afford to spend on educating yourself in this particular area and then just start. Personally, I would start by reading a year's worth of Wired Magazine and some of the Internet or new economy oriented trade magazines. Use those as your "freshman survey course" to decide what things you feel you need to know. You're going to want to have a basic understanding of the major technologies from HTML on up. You're going to want to learn some about content management, knowledge management, user interface design, web advertising, venture capital, web history, the people and places, all that kind of stuff. Don't be afraid to spend some of your education money at Amazon.com either. There are a lot of books on web strategy and all the different aspects of it.
If you approach your "education" that way, you'll certainly be able to talk the talk better. From there it is a matter of getting that first job and learning to walk the walk!

As a business major, what you might want to do rather than actually get into the nuts and bolts of being a code jock or an artist, is to focus your energies on theory and strategy, or project management. Project Management is project management. If you want to become an expert in that, go to the Project Management Institute site (below) and look up how to become PMP certified.
If you want to get into strategy, however, that's a different subject. I'm not sure how successful you would be in finding a useful curriculum anywhere, let alone in Tallahassee, FL. It is still changing and evolving so quickly! Where would you find classes that talk about Web 2.0 and all the new things that ubiquitous high-speed connectivity and the newer technologies (like what Google Maps uses to be able to slide the map around) are letting companies do?
I htink if you want to get into strategy, you might be best off to create your own "masters degree" program. Figure out how much time and money you can afford to spend on educating yourself in this particular area and then just start. Personally, I would start by reading a year's worth of Wired Magazine and some of the Internet or new economy oriented trade magazines. Use those as your "freshman survey course" to decide what things you feel you need to know. You're going to want to have a basic understanding of the major technologies from HTML on up. You're going to want to learn some about content management, knowledge management, user interface design, web advertising, venture capital, web history, the people and places, all that kind of stuff. Don't be afraid to spend some of your education money at Amazon.com either. There are a lot of books on web strategy and all the different aspects of it.
If you approach your "education" that way, you'll certainly be able to talk the talk better. From there it is a matter of getting that first job and learning to walk the walk!

Most of them have a southern accent. How "strong" the accent varies greatly. I know a lot of people who sound like freakin' Scarlett O'Hara herself! Yet my wife, who has lived here all her life, sounds like she grew up in the Midwest somewhere. You wouldn't know she was from the south unless you listened very carefully when she says a word like "there." Now this is not a scientific study, but if I were to guess, I'd say the breakdown of native Tallahassee people probably breaks down like this:

Don't expect to find a charger of most years, "cheap". If you are thinking "cheap" I'd suggest you need to be looking for something more like a early Dart or maybe a Duster. Be realistic when your searching for a car. Know what they are generally worth, and what you can actually afford to spend on the right car. It costs lots of money to restore or fix up a Mopar, so be prepared. I spent over $20,000 in one year alone just in restoring my 68 Road Runner, (and I'm not done yet) and I own the body shop where most of the work was performed. Cheap can't be in your vocabulary when it comes to these cars (MOPARS). Good Luck!

I am a young single professional ready to move to Florida. I have a job offer and can choose to live in either area and was wondering if anybody had insight on the areas? Also, I'll be one the road quite a bit so I can live outside of the area. I've been south of Jacksonville around the Sawgrass area and it was a little bit expensive but really nice, especially the beaches. I am looking for a ob/gyn for prenatal care and maybe also for all other ob/gyn needs before and after a baby. I do not want to wait til I am pregnant to find a doctor.The best ob/gyn in Tallahassee, Florida for prenatal care?
Since no one has answered this and I don't live in the area I'm going to answer this the best I can. I would go and interview some of the doctors at different clinics and get your own personal opinion. If you have some friends that go and see obgyns then I would also ask for their opinion as well.

They pretty accurately predict when a good time to buy a flight would be based off of past and current trends, etc. It's pretty useful. Another site I've found handy is rightflight.org. They did a bunch of research on the various airfare sites to see which sites are usually the cheapest. Check the travel sites (airgorilla, expedia, priceline, travelocity, etc.) and also check the airline websites. I have often (not always, but often) found the best fares on the airline websites.
Check with a real travel agent to ask about promotional fares and special deals.
If you also need a hotel or rental car, check the cost of combining the purchases in a package. For example, I found a deal with airfare + hotel in Hawaii for a week that was only $100 more than just the airfare.
When traveling to far destinations check the prices when you split the ticket. For example, searching "Tallahassee to Manchester" (all on one ticket) MAY cost much more than searching "Tallahassee to Newark" and then "Newark to Manchester". If that turns out to be the case, talk to a real travel agent about getting the better fare all on one ticket. Remember to check airlines like JetBlue and Southwest that do not use the travel sites.

Check with the Attorney General's office in your state and in the state that the agency is located in to see how many and the nature of complaints that have been lodged against the agency. Most agencies will have at least one complaint as adoptions can be complicated and people get disappointed. Is the agency considered in "good standing" with the AG's office?
Ask for references from the agency. Okay, obviously they aren't going to give you the name of someone who was unhappy, but this will give you the opportunity to speak with someone who used their services. Find out what they liked about the agency. Ask if they were adopting again, would they use the same agency or not and ask why. This can be a very telling response.
Since you are interested in adopting from the Ukraine, find others who have adopted from the Ukraine to see who they used and why. I suggest joining tehse Yahoo groups and pose this same question.

It might also be worthwhile to contact Nancy Palmer in Orlando...she is a very well-respected attorney in Orlando and she is also the adoptive mother of 3 Russian children. She would probably speak with you informally and she is has a wealth of information on this subject. Hope that helps.

I have always wanted to move to Florida now, it is all I think about. I research Tallahassee all day ! is is naive to think that I could pack up and relocate successfully. I am married and have 2 grown children - college age.Am I crazy to relocate from Boston MA to Tallahassee FL.?
I have moved on impulse in the past and it has always turned out to be a huge mistake so I caution you to go slowly on this. I think you should visit there a few times and go during different times of the year (I wish I had!). My sister moved from Boston to Fl but had only been there during the winter-it turns out that she can't stand the heat and humidity in July and August so she returns to New England for the summer. Two other things come to mind: work and college. The pay scale there is much less than in Boston so if you plan to work be prepared to receive a smaller paycheck and possibly fewer benefits. The cost of living might be less there but you get less in terms of community services,education and health care. If your children are at a MA state school and they could lose their residency benefit. So proceed with caution. This has been a very long winter so thinking about FL takes on a dreamy quality.

I am a Chinese student. I have no idea on American cities. I have recieved two offers from Uni of Texas at Austin and Florida State Uni at Tallahassee ( The major is sport management). When driving between these two cities a city between them is Drifton,FL which is about half way between those cities. Towards the Lake City Side is Live Oak which is about 10 minutes away from the way. Hopefully This helps.

What is it like in Tallahassee, FL?
I'm considering moving to the Tallahassee area for school but have never been to that area of Florida, I've been to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando. I'm planning on taking a trip down there to view some schools and see the area for myself but would like an idea of what its like. Is it relaxed or busy? What are the people like? If you're talking about College, Tallahassee is a really nice place to be. It's not so big so if you commute, it won't be a problem, and taking the city bus is free. Most of the roads are in bad condition so that takes away from Tallahassee. I would say this city is in between relaxed and busy because there are 3 major schools, a City Hall, and then the State capitol and all of its state agencies.
The club scene is pretty nice, there's always a party.
I really have nothing to say unless you have anything to specifically ask.

Hurting people hurt others. Theres nothing wrong with you its the people who are mean to you. They are sick and being mean makes them feel better. People/kids/parents do mean things or lie and control. They just want the reaction so they can get high feel good from it. The words are not true. They have a problem and they need control.
When you have a bad past/rejection/father gone it lets other things start. Anorexia Bi polar, Cutting, OCD, anxiety, panic attacks, hearing voices can all come from a tramautic past. It opens doors to the negative and they start to dwell closeby, like addicitons cravings.

About 4 to 5 blocks south of the terminal is Downtown with coffee shops, restaurants, science museum, vintage type shops and just a couple of more blocks is the capital. Great exhibitions and art work or just a tour of the buildings. Enjoy...it's a pretty city and that part is walkable with shady sidewalks - huge oaks.I will be in downtown Tallahassee for 4 hours in the afternoon. What is there to do or eat?! Help me!?

When you step out the front door of the Tallahassee Greyhound Bus Station you will be facing south.
Do not walk too far to the west; Florida State University, 100 or more collage bars, homeless and the south end of a repressed area of Tallahassee (Frenchtown).
To your right (west) you will find a northbound one way road, Duval Street. Walk southbound.
After Call Street you will see the public library on your right.
Just as you cross Collage Avenue you will not be able to miss the I-Max theater.
I-Max is on Kleman Plaza.
There is an underground five-level parking garage. At the top (ground) level by the elevator you will find a small clear rack with visitor maps and a small magazine or visitors.
If this is empty, go down one level to the Republic Parking office. Ask for a map and a Tallahassee Guide.
I work night security in the five-level lot. So if you would like to say hello for me, please drop me an e-mail and I will give you the names of the people that work there.
Southern part of the plaza is a museum. Across from the I-Max are two eating establishments (Harry鈥檚 and 101). There will be a small coffee shop as well. All of them are expensive (for me at least).

Another block east is Monroe Street, the main drag north and south for Tallahassee.
The small stores have been long overrun by lawyers, lobbyists, and small businesses.
If you want a real good southern town with small stores on main streets you can walk, that will be Thomasville, Georgia one hour to the north.
